- Able to obtain and maintain an active PTIN with the IRS
- Willing to complete REFRS training before preparing client returns
- Committed to accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance

70/30 Compensation Structure
Your share of preparation fees
70/30
You keep 70% of the preparation fees on the returns you prepare. REFRS retains 30% to support software, bank products, compliance, training, and office operations.

- The $299 fee is nonrefundable.
- IRS and PTIN fees are separate and are paid directly to the IRS.
- REFRS provides PTIN application assistance but cannot guarantee IRS approval.
- EFIN approval is determined by the IRS.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need tax experience to apply?
No. Training is included, and new preparers complete it before working on client returns. Experienced preparers are welcome too.
Do I need a PTIN before I apply?
No. If you are accepted, we assist you with the PTIN application or renewal during onboarding. The IRS decides whether a PTIN is issued, and REFRS cannot guarantee approval.
Is the $299 setup fee refundable?
No. The $299 setup fee is nonrefundable.
Does the $299 include IRS or PTIN fees?
No. IRS and PTIN fees are separate and paid directly to the IRS. REFRS never collects IRS fees on your behalf.
What is an EFIN, and do I need one?
An Electronic Filing Identification Number lets a tax office file returns electronically. EFIN approval is determined by the IRS, not REFRS. You do not need your own EFIN to prepare returns as part of the REFRS team.
Can I buy tax software from REFRS for my own office?
Tax-software purchasers must have an active EFIN. If you have one, contact us about software options.
Can I serve clients in Spanish or Haitian Creole?
Yes, and we encourage it. REFRS assists clients in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole, so bilingual preparers are a valuable part of the team.

Emmanuella Richman
Founder & CEO, Richman Elite Financial & Realty Services (REFRS)
Born in Haiti and raised through adversity, Emmanuella Richman turned pain into purpose and purpose into prosperity. After migrating to the U.S. at just 10 years old, she faced the challenges of learning a new language, navigating foster care, and rebuilding life from the ground up.
Through faith and determination, she rose above it all; graduating high school at 16, earning her Bachelor's degree in Business Information Management, and marrying her high school sweetheart, now her husband of many years and a proud Army chef. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and service.
The spark that created REFRS began when she witnessed her mother-in-law's unfair experience buying a home. Emmanuella knew she could do better; not just for her family, but for every client who deserved honesty, transparency, and empowerment. That moment led her to become a licensed REALTOR®, tax preparer, and business startup expert, devoted to helping others achieve financial freedom and generational wealth.
Today, as a proud Army wife, mother of two, and the founder of Richman Elite Financial & Realty Services, Emmanuella continues to lead with compassion, courage, and conviction.
